Coloring Can Be a Wonderful Way to Unplug

Coloring is more than a creative hobby.

Many people find coloring calming, grounding, and helpful when they need to slow down and quiet a busy mind. Focusing on color, patterns, shapes, and small details can provide a peaceful break from everyday stress.

For people experiencing anxiety, low moods, emotional overload, or simply an exhausting day, coloring can offer a gentle way to relax and spend time focused on something creative and enjoyable.

Coloring is not a substitute for professional medical or mental health care, but it can be a comforting part of a healthy self care routine.

What Paper Should I Use?

You can absolutely print these pages on regular household printer paper.

Standard 8.5 × 11 inch US Letter paper works perfectly for casual coloring with crayons, colored pencils, and many pens.

For better results, especially if you plan to frame your finished artwork, you may want to use heavier paper.

Colored pencils and crayons:
Standard 20 to 24 lb printer paper works well. Premium 28 to 32 lb paper feels nicer and is more durable.

Gel pens and fine tip markers:
Consider 28 to 32 lb premium paper for a smoother, sturdier coloring surface.

Water based markers:
32 lb paper or heavier paper is recommended.

Alcohol markers:
Use heavier marker paper or cardstock if your printer supports it. Something around 65 lb cardstock can work nicely for many home printers.

Alcohol markers can bleed through even heavy paper, so always place the included Color Shield or another protective sheet behind the page you are coloring.

Your printer has its own maximum paper thickness, so check your printer specifications before using heavy cardstock.

Printing Tips

For the intended page size, select:

Paper Size: US Letter, 8.5 × 11 inches
Orientation: Portrait
Scale: Actual Size or 100%
Color Setting: Black and white is fine for the coloring pages
Quality: High quality or best quality if available

The pages are designed for 8.5 × 11 inch paper, but most printer software can also scale them to other paper sizes. If you are using A4 or another format, choose Fit to Page and check the preview before printing.

Make It Your Own

Whether you prefer colored pencils, crayons, gel pens, fine liners, water based markers, or alcohol markers, every page gives you a blank canvas for your own imagination.

There is no correct color for a Venetian carnival cat.

There is no rule saying a dragon cannot be purple.

And nobody is stopping you from giving the entire fairy garden neon pink flowers. 😆

Color the pages exactly the way you want them.

Your Purchase Supports a Bigger Mission

Feisty & Fabulous is also part of the CatLife247 mission to help create a future where homeless, abandoned, frightened, and forgotten cats can have safety, care, love, and a place to belong.

Your purchase helps support CatLife247's work, educational projects, rescue efforts, and long term dream of building a large permanent sanctuary for cats in need.
